Have any of you ever had a pen pal?  Was it a cousin from another state, a friend who moved away, or someone you met from another country who wrote letters to you?  Maybe the closest I ever got to having pen pals was when my family moved away from Roseau my sophomore year in high school.  I had some friends who were kind enough to write and keep me informed about life in Roseau during the time we were away.

Evangeline is really excited about the idea of having pen pals.  I don’t know if she read about it in a book or if it came up in a conversation with friends, but she has already written back and forth once with her friend, Lily.  Her face “lit up” when she received her first letter and she quickly responded.  Here are some pictures of the “pen pals” hanging out together last month:
