Nehemiah Starts College at UND
After becoming the first graduate from Desert Springs Academy (our family’s homeschool) with not only a high school diploma, but 54 college credits through his PSEO courses at Century College during his junior and senior year, Nehemiah started preparing for his next step at the University of North Dakota.
Nehemiah has known that he wanted to go to UND for about the last five years since he first set his sights on a career as an air traffic controller. Growing up overseas has led to significant time in airports and given him a great fascination of all things aviation. UND has a wonderful aviation program and all of Nehemiah’s campus visits over the last couple years have just confirmed that UND is the place for him.
So, during the last couple weekends, we moved him up to UND as a family to help set up his dorm and get ready for his new job up there. When we were finished shopping and lofting beds, the kids gathered around and prayed for Nehemiah. It was precious to see how much they are going to miss Nehemiah (and he will miss them).
Then, this weekend Sonja went down with only Lazarus to spend some final time with Nehemiah before classes start up next week. Nehemiah really enjoys his roommate, Andrew, and is looking forward to this next step at UND as he pursues a degree in Air Traffic Management. Stay tuned to see what the first year brings!
