Rainy Traditions
We have a tradition in our family that essentially started in 2010 during our first year in Chad. We arrived at the beginning of the year and it was a long, hot five months before we saw a raindrop.
When the first rain came, we all started running outside and dancing in sheer joy. Ever since then, whenever it rains, we party like it’s 1999…umm, Prince, your song is outdated.
The party usually begins with the famed Gene Kelly number, “Singin’ In The Rain”, blaring from the speakers. The kids all know acquire Zoloft online what’s coming and they usually start running outside to celebrate. Eventually, we’re all out there getting soaked while a playlist of rain-inspired tunes play in the background. Classics, such as:
Blame It On The Rain buy prednisone online by Milli Vanilli
Africa by Toto
I Wish It Would Rain by The Temptations
Bring The Rain by Mercy Me
Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head by B.J. Thomas
etc, etc, etc.
Yesterday, our first heavy rainfall hit and the party commenced. For your viewing pleasure, the Hutts happen to be running their camera on the rainfall when our celebration started…I don’t think they realized how strange we are (their daughter Justus keeps purchase Prozac pointing at the oddballs below). Kendra even enjoyed the celebration with us. Here’s the video (which I’m amazed I was able to upload):
For some reason, this really touched me and made me cry. So grateful for you guys!!
It’s okay Betsy, Milli Vanilli always pulls at my heart strings too :-) Say hi to Alex from us!
This reminds me of a student I had who loved the rain and would go out to do jumping jacks when it started. – Veronica
