Saddle Up The Horses
One of the blessings of our new home in Iriba is an extremely spacious yard. It gives the kids a lot of room to run around and play (something they’ve not had in most of our other homes in Africa). Last week, I noticed them taking advantage of the space by riding their horses around the yard. Don’t panic about their ability to control these wild beasts…it’s not like visiting Uncle Joshua and Auntie Sara’s place. In fact, here they are:

Yes, they had managed to tie cloth around a stick and were creating all kinds of adventures around the yard. If you look at their recent books on the bookshelf, it’s easy to understand how Evangeline and Hadassah’s horses were named “Black Beauty” and “Ginger” (another Black Beauty character) and were driving their masters around town, while Nehemiah’s horse was riding off into Wild West gun fights the entire afternoon.

Okay grandpa would sure like to be riding horses with you all. We miss and
