May I Be Searched?

Before I share about the London airport, just a note to keep praying for Athanasius, as he has continued his vomiting.  A teammate believes he has giardia, a protozoa infection, which is causing the water diarrhea and vomiting.  We’ve started to give him some medication and have been giving him lots of water in the meantime.

Our kids have been through a lot of airports, so they are pretty familiar with all the events that occur there.  For the first time though, in the London airport, one of our children was searched.  It wasn’t long, but after Nehemiah went through the metal detector, a man asked him to hold his arms out and he quickly went up and down and let him pass.  Sonja and I were also searched and began to grab our luggage off of the belt, when we turned around to notice Evangeline standing with her arms out.  I looked at the woman assistant and said obviously my daughter would also like to be searched.  She laughed and did it quick.  Evangeline then walked away as if she had just matured into an adult through one action of initiation.  Way to go Dolly!

I can totally see Dolly not wanting to be left out of the fun. I’m so thankful to hear you are all feeling better – we have been praying so for that. Be sure Dolly knows that we are remembering to pray for her in Chad like she asked.

    Love and miss you all,
    Grandma Broten
