Graduation Day
Somedays, you notice all the differences. And then there are days like yesterday where you see your similarities. Yesterday was graduation day at Breidjing Usman School. About 500-1,000 people gather around the square, students sitting with parents and grandparents standing behind them. A speech was given about the importance of education and a nod to the students for their hard work. Then the kids’ names were read and they came forward to get their diplomas on a slip of paper. It was pretty exciting to hear some of the grandmothers cheering when their grandchild’s name was called. Here’s a couple pictures from the event:
