If someone asked you to explain the trinity right now, what would you say?  Seriously.  Would you blurt out a simplistic sentence containing the words God, three, and persons?  Or would some nice, sophisticated phrases like, “eternally existent” and “divine nature” come rolling out?  Maybe you have a nice picture or parable to help someone understand.  It’s not easy to understand God let alone explain His glories to others.

Yet, we are called to tell of His wonders and since I am often asked, “Why do you believe in three gods?”, I have been spending time asking God to teach me in this area from His Word.  Yesterday, I was reading a treatise from John Bunyan called “Of The Trinity And A Christian“, which is simply his encouragement to a Christian coming to the Word of God in order to understand the trinity.  One particular preparative caught my eye:
