Fungasu For Breakfast
A common breakfast (or snack) here in Chad is fungasu. It is made by frying little round balls of dough in oil. Our neighbor Habsita makes them everyday. Here she is in her kitchen showing the process:

On the mornings when Sonja is feeling particularly lazy….cough-cough…I mean creative, she sends Nehemiah over to pick up some fungasu from Habsita. We can get about 15-20 fungasu for $1 (pretty cheap huh?).
Then we enjoy the fungasu with jam, dip them into sugar, or just eat them plain. The kids love them:
