Living Accommodations
Do you call them houses, homes, or apartments? I’m not sure, but here is a picture of our living accommodations for the next 8-10 months up in Quebec:
When we first applied with the school here, Parole de Vie, they apologetically informed us that they did not have any “large family” accommodations remaining. The two options they gave us were to 1) rent an apartment off campus or 2) rent the two bottom units of this building above. Option 1 would have required us to sign a lease for an entire year and furnish the entire apartment, whereas option 2, only needed to be leased for the months we are here and came with the majority of furnishings we needed.
So, we are on the bottom floor of this building above. The kids have the space on the left, while Sonja and I have the space on the right. Because they’re both apartments, they both had kitchens and a space for eating in it. So we put a larger table on one side and converted the other side to a small sitting room. We’re the only people who use the door you see in the middle, while the kind caretakers living upstairs have a separate entrance in the back.
It may not be the most ideal setup, but we’re thankful for the LORD’s providence. Here’s some of our other living accommodations over the years:
