The Apple Orchard
Today my class went on an outing to learn some French in context. The location was an apple orchard about 15-20 miles outside of Sherbrooke:
…and we were told that our families were welcome to join us. After a lunch and some apple pie, we all piled into two wagon trailer that were pulled by a tractor. Our tour guide, Clement, taught us all about the orchard, how apples are made, and how to pick them. Children and adults listened carefully, as he spoke in French:
Then it was time for a most enjoyable activity of picking apples to fill our plastic bags:
…which was only topped by the activity that followed…eating them!
We learned a lot of French, a lot about apples, and enjoyed the afternoon together as a family:
