A Child’s Impression of Our Work
We wear many vocational hats here in Chad. To some, we are English teachers, many look at us as religious people, while other friends call us humanitarian workers. But my brother’s son (he’s three years old) had one of the most hilarious comments about our work here in Chad.
I’ll let my brother share the story:
Hey Jake,
So here’s a funny story, my wife was getting ready to pray with our son and going through family names. Last night they were going to pray for you guys so she asked him,
“Do you remember who lives in Africa?
To which he responds, “Yeah, black people”
So she tells him, “Yes, but remember Jacob, Sonja and your cousins live there too.”
He nods his head.
“Do you know what they are doing in Africa?” she inquires.
He says confidently, “Yes.”
So she asks expectantly, “And what is that?”
To which he says “Throwing up”.
We laughed so hard reading that last night…thanks Joseph!
