A Valentine From Solomon

We didn’t realize it was Valentine’s Day today until a text on our phone alerted us with a holiday offer.  Sonja, always quick on her feet, cut up some hearts and, wrote our names on one side with a verse about love on the other side, and then had them sitting at our table spots for dinner.  After we ate, she pulled out a Bible and then encouraged us each to look up the verse on the back of the card and read it out loud.  The kids did well sharing passages from 1 John, Matthew, and Psalms to name a few.

My heart had John 15:13 on the back of it, but I decided to call an audible and opened to Song of Solomon 1 to read:

Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth!
For your love is better than wine;
Draw me after you; let us run.
The king has brought me into his chambers. (Song of Solomon 1:2, 4)

The kids thought I was making it up, but when I showed them the verse, they turned their eyes to Mama, as I pondered out loud, “Now why would Mama give me a verse like that?”  Sonja simply shook her head, but I think deep down (maybe), she was laughing :-)

    Precious! I love it! It is doubly sweet to be reminded of how intimately our Bridegroom loves us. Thanks for sharing. :)
