The Mobile Washer

IMG_0654

No, this is not some kind of joke about my wife…Sonja’s awesome! The thing that she is holding is what’s actually called “The Mobile Washer“. We ordered a few of them while we were back in the States a couple years ago.  It’s basically made up of a wooden handle and three plastic pieces which are all held together when the two end pieces (the handle and last plastic component are screwed together).  Simply due to the design (ingenious), a suction effect takes places when you pump the handle up and down.  With a little soap powder in the water with your clothes, that suction effect actually pulls the soap through your dirty laundry and is much more effective than washing with your hands (washing with your hands is also known as “The Chadian Washing Machine”).

Still not impressed?  Okay, to more fully understand Sonja’s appreciation for this device, fill a basin in your home with water, some laundry detergent, a pair of dirty jeans, and a shirt.  Grab the dirty shirt, sloshing it around in the water, and rub the shirt against itself to take out any marks or stains.  Then scrub those pants together with just your bear hands.  Now imagine doing that for every item of clothing in your laundry basket each day of the week.  Finally, imagine having the mobile washer allow you to simply take those two items of clothing and pump up and down 10-15 times and those pants and shirt look more clean than after all the aggressive scrubbing you did with you hands.  This is why Sonja likes the Mobile Washer.

We also appreciate our Chadian house helper, Ashta, who helps with the laundry three days a week, our children who pitch in with some occasional laundry washing, and washing machines during our furlough visits back to the States :-)purchase real cialis online

i’m a little behind, here, but that does look amazing. i remember being in russia and having to wait days for my jeans to dry. then being afraid to wear them because i wasn’t ready for them to be dirty, again. when i returned i was still in “culture shock” and my sister reminded me that they had a dryer for me to use. :) i’m sure you guys don’t have to worry about clothing drying!
