Camel Spiders
Here in Iriba, we have the opportunity to interact with camel spiders. By interact, I mean spotting them in our home, screaming at the thought that they might be attacking us, grabbing a sandal, and saying goodnight to the spider. Here’s a postmortem picture of the oft-victim:

Camel spiders (sometimes referred to as sun spiders) are a fast-moving predatory arachnid with a pair of massive vertical pincers. They live chiefly in warm deserts, many are active by day, and some grow to a large size (this one was about the size of my hand).
