Twelve Years of Marriage
In 2001, I met Sonja Hovey at a New Year’s Eve gathering of young adults. The next day, we skated together for three hours while that same group seemed to fade. Within three weeks, we were reading a book on courtship and decided to start one. Seven months later, we were engaged and less than a year after that first meeting, we were married.
Knowing now what I didn’t know then, I took it WAY too slow. I should have asked her to marry me that first night. Thankfully, God was looking out for me and this treasure didn’t go anywhere while I figured out what He knew all along.
Thanks for twelves years of marriage, honey. Let’s keep enjoying every second of it!
