Cross Country Bus Ride
Two weeks ago, our family rode a bus all the way across the country of Chad from N’Djamena to Abéché:
It is a trek covering about 550 miles and takes about 13 hours with all the stops included. So, we woke up at 5:00 AM to head to the bus station. Kendra and the kids gave their best early morning faces:
That many hours on the bus gives you lots of time to meet people and pass your kids off on them:
Or if you’re like Athanasius, it gives you plenty of time to catch a little shut-eye:
The bus stopped halfway in the town of Mongo, where Justin, Nehemiah and I enjoyed some goat meat, while the ladies and the younger kids looked around the town a little:
We finally arrived at our destination just after sunset (7 PM) where some other friends welcomed us and helped us get to our beds for the night. We were really proud of the kids sitting tight for an entire day on a bus…thank you LORD!
