Christmas Presents

This is a long overdue post…apologies Dad and Mom.

My parents wanted to get something special for the kids at Christmas.  So we tried to think of something unique that suited each of the kids, would be useful to them (even if only for 4-5 months), and bring a smile to their face.
For our family, it’s not uncommon for a birthday, Christmas, or other holiday to be celebrated with a simple time of prayer, a meal together, and maybe some singing.  It’s just the nature of living thousands of miles from the nearest Walmart and having a mail system that takes anywhere between 4 weeks to 6 months for delivery.  I’m thankful for the opportunity it gives us and our kids to remember that these celebrations aren’t primarily about opening presents, but about giving thanks to God for His kindness and sharing that kindness with others.

But, I really like watching the kids’ faces as they open a gift and learn more about it.  Below is a short video we took of Nehemiah and Evangeline opening their gifts (which happened to be the same):

Generic Zoloft

They’ve already put their gifts to really good use, as they use them each morning for family reading from the Bible and have downloaded numerous free books like “Teddy’s Button“, “Oliver Twist“, and a French Bible for Children.  Thanks Grandpa and Grandma for the wonderful gifts!
