Introducing Holly Findley

Once again, God has proven that nothing is impossible for Him.

When we first found out that we were expecting a child during our first year in Chad, we wondered what the LORD had in mind.  As we talked and prayed together, we began to sense His leading to give birth to this child here in Chad.  We asked God to provide a doctor or midwife, either here in Chad, or one that would come to us.  He has answered that prayer and we would like to introduce you to Holly Findley.

Holly has spent time as a worker overseas in Malawi and has been in the Philippines for much of the last three years, where she has assisted in over 200 deliveries and personally delivered 74 babies.  She wrote to us about her experience there:

…all of my clinical experience was in the Philippines with women who, due to poverty, were not in optimal health and experienced more complications than most North American women would have in a typical out-of-hospital birth setting. The benefit of this, however, is that I became quite competent at handling complications that many midwives in America don’t often have to deal with. We did have a hospital that we could transport to quite easily should the need arise, but because of the poor conditions at the hospital, and the regularity that we actually saw common complications arise, a lot of them were handled right there in the clinic.

Holly plans to travel here in mid-July and be with us through September 1 (the due date is August 16th).  Please join us in thanking God for her, pray for her preparations in coming, her time here with us, and that the LORD would supply all her needs for flights, supplies, etc.

Sonja! Holly sounds so very competant and looks so very lovable! This is one of those answers: “above and beyond!” I am so happy for the wonderful blessing and addition she will be to your family when she comes! She even looks like a Minnesota gal! :)
