Photographers
But pictures are indeed worth a thousand words, so how does one continue sharing about life here through them? Leave it to Sonja to find a way around this conundrum.
Sonja has found that handing the camera off to one of our two older children completely removes the suspicions and uneasiness of people. They love it and often start posing for the kids to take pictures. Of course, the downside is I have to filter out about thirty pictures of the sky, a candy wrapper, and people’s foreheads taken by our amateur operators (aren’t we all).
While it may be awhile before we work up the gall to take pictures in larger public places, we do feel much more comfortable getting pictures of life in our neighborhood and other places thanks to our little photographers. Here’s our oldest cutting his mother’s head, but getting a good photo of a Chadian woman carrying a bowl of prepared wedding food on her head:
very artistic, nehemiah! he has the “rule of thirds” down. :) glad you are feeling better, jacob!
