Yeah, that was the dominating sound ringing through our house last week as four straight days of rain saturated our flat cement roof and slowly trickled down to begin the final plunge from our paint-peeling ceiling to the ground level.  Here’s a look from our bed:

I was up on the roof at all hours of the night trying to squeegee the water off the roof, which did serious damage to my sleep habits (yes, touché to all of you laughing and remarking, “What habits?”).  On top of that…it still got through.  One morning, we woke up to find most of the floor in the kids’ room wet, puddles in Hadassah’s pack-n-play, and half of Nehemiah’s mattress soaked.

There’s not much you can do but grit your teeth, try to laugh, and maybe sing a song.  Here’ the one that I had in my head:
