Jelly Beans
Blame it on the years of playing Balderdash with my family if you found many of the answers to the “Why Are They So Happy?” poll believable. Contrary to the votes of more than half the respondents, we are not expecting a child. Sonja had a number of “When is the due date?” emails that she had to respond to…….oops :)

We had two packages waiting for us when we returned from Iriba. Opening these packages are BIG events in our home. I sit down with the boxes and pull everything out one by one while giving grandiose descriptions like a sports announcer and the kids pretty much cheer every item that’s held up…including a bag of jelly beans.

After I voted (incorrectly) I looked at the picture again, and noticed that A. was holding a can of Parmesan cheese, and figured it had to be the excitement of a package. Say hello and happy birthday to E. for us!
That is exactly what I guessed but did not vote. Actually, I was hoping you had just told them you were all staying with us for a few days when you come back to the U.S. and then they all cheered. :) Happy Belated Birthday Dolly.
