Latin Musings With Evangeline

The English word niveous means “snowy or resembling snow” and is derived from the Latin word nix.  Last week, Evangeline and I were studying seasons and weather terms in Latin and as a part of the lesson, she was asked the question, “Do you get much nix around your home where you live?”

Right away Evangeline answered, “No”.  Since it was snowing that day, I was very curious as to what she was thinking, so I asked her, “And where do you live?  Where is your home?”

That’s the first time I’ve heard her refer to Chad as home since we’ve been back and though it may change tomorrow, it sure warmed my heart to hear her say it.
