Sonja and I are presently enjoying C.J. Mahaney’s book, “Humility: True Greatness” and benefitting greatly from it (maybe we’ll share more in the weeks ahead).  His premise for the book is this, if “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble” (James 4:6), then pride is something we ought to vehemently fight against and humility a fruit that we should mine for with great fervor.

The book is then Mahaney’s fatherly counsel to share practices that he’s observed in others and found fruitful himself for killing pride and fostering humility.  One of the first pearls he gleaned from Calvin and writes is this: order Prozac

“Humility is honestly assessing ourselves in light of God’s holiness and our sinfulness.”

We need genuine humility rooted in these two realities.  Please pray that this book continues to benefit us to that end.
