We’ve arrived at the place where we hope to live as a family for the next nine months as we study the French language.  Our final leg today was the shortest one (about three hours), but it still contained some measure of adventure and drama.

We stopped just before the border in the town of Newport, VT.  They have a hospital there, which is just thirty minutes from our school.  For various reasons (most of which involve paperwork, passport, etc), we are considering delivering our baby here and we set up an appointment for later this week to talk about those possibilities.

Then it was on to the border, where I had to answer some questions before I would be granted a study visa for me and the family.  I was in the border building with one another American woman, whose car was being searched.  They told her that they found drugs in her car and proceeded to arrest her right in front of me.  She claimed that a friend took the car two days before and must have left them there.  Hmm…not sure what to believe.
