My brother Joseph and his wife, Ira, welcomed their second child, a little girl, into the world this afternoon.  Her name is Evelina Mabel Broten.  Evelina is a common Ukrainian name, which is Ira’s home country, where she and Joseph met.  When I asked Joseph what the name Evelina meant, he responded with, “I don’t know.”  Our paternal grandmother’s name was Mabel.  One amazing fact about her…she bore 13 children…our Dad was the 13th.
