For weeks I tried to think of a present that would bring a smile to Nehemiah’s face.  One week before his birthday, I was playing in a broomball tournament and since I know how much Nehemiah likes hockey, I asked my teammates in French if it was difficult to get a ticket for a Montreal Canadians game.  To my surprise, one of my teammates had season tickets and offered to bring us to the game.

So, on Tuesday January 22nd, one day after Nehemiah’s birthday, we traveled to Montreal to watch the Canadians play the Florida Panthers.  We left early in the afternoon to meet my friend, Danny, and his son for a wonderful dinner at La Cage aux Sports.  Then, it was onto the game.

The Canadians played well and hopped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period.  After a Florida Panthers goal cut the lead in the half, they tacked on two more in the second and that’s the way it ended 4-1.  It’s the first hockey game that we’ve attended where the team we were cheering for won (we’ve been to 2-3 Wild games over the years and they’ve lost each one).
