A Caring Mother
I grew up in Northfield, MN, just south of the cities and attended a small Lutheran church, where my mom taught Sunday School. A very vivid memory of those years is of one December when my mother started to sew a dress for a girl in her class. She had noticed that the second grader only had one dress that she wore each week. It brought her such delight to prepare a gift for this girl. I remember my mom silently packing up a box with a Christmas dress, tights and fancy patent leather shoes. She found a way to anonymously get the package to the little girl.
When I thank God for my mom today, I thank Him for her compassion for others and all the extra time she takes to make me, Jacob, her grandchildren and others around her feel special. By His grace, that’s the kind of caring woman I hope to be.
I love you Mom!
