Okay, I should probably give you some background on that title.  About a year ago, Jacob and I watched a crude, but cute movie called “10 Things I Hate About You“, so named from the final poem recited between an at-odds twosome who seem destined to be together (the movie is loosely based off of Shakespeare’s “The Taming of the Shrew”).  Everything she hates about him stems from the fact that she actually loves him:

We watched the movie shortly before Jacob’s birthday last year, so following the theme of the movie, I wrote him an email titled “34 Things I Hate About You” for his b-day.  They were really all the things that I love about him, in part because the sum total of them are what makes him Jacob.  I added one to the list this year and while I’m not going to give you all 35, here’s a little peek:

• I love when you sit down at a piano and start composing a new song.
• I love when you pretend the cows are asking where Athanasius is and then he wonders if you told them.

• I love that you eat anything I make without complaining!
• I love how after you suffer a broomball injury making it difficult to walk on your leg, you tell me, “I’ll probably just need a couple weeks before I can get back out on the ice.”
• I love the way you care for my soul.
