I’m 5’2″, and have never been taller than that.  Yet, on three separate occasions during our last furlough, women who have followed us on this blog and through our emails but whom I’ve never met in person made similar statements to this effect when we finally met, “I pictured you being taller.” Generic Zoloft

There could be a lot of reasons for this, but based on other comments these people said like, “You’re really brave” or “I could never do that”, I have concluded that they look at our life and think “Sonja is able to do things I could never do.”  And they “picture” that I am some strong amazon woman or a superhero or something like that.

So I’m here to set the record straight.  I am not strong.  I am not super-adaptable.  Apart from Christ, there’s not a holy desire in me.  When you read that I am cooking a meal over charcoal and fire or going to the bathroom in a hole in the ground, don’t conclude that I enjoy a good challenge or that I really like camping.  I don’t.  I prefer a 4-star hotel.

In reality, God put us in this situation.  We tried to find the nicest house and this is what was available (it’s pretty nice by Chad standards).  Jacob tried to purchase a stove, but there wasn’t one available in Abeche.  At those points, I could either shake my fist at God by being angry at Jacob or this life in Chad or trust Him for the grace to take one day at a time.  I choose the latter.

Therefore, here’s what you can conclude when you read about my  life:

– we serve a BIG God who strengthens, guides and loves us.
– with a mustard seed of faith, He will move mountains. buy Deltasone online
– with God nothing is impossible.
– His grace is sufficient for each day.
– we have a purpose for living that is much bigger than ourselves and it causes believers to do crazy things.

Oh yeah, and as long as I’m setting the record straight, I’m not tall.  I’m 5’2″.
