Not Forgotten
Now today, we revere Stephen for his boldness and sacrifice. But what did the people back then think about him? It’s obvious the religious leaders hated him with vehemence. We can see that disinterested people were lying to lie and spread rumors about him. Man, even chapter 8 starts out by stating that the brethren in the church were a bit preoccupied “being scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria” due to a great persecution that arose. It seemed that in the present time, Stephen’s name was a slandered and forgotten one.

But then tucked away in verse two, we read this:
Devout men buried Stephen and made great lamentation over him (Acts 8:2).
Our lives are fleeting. The praise of man is a foolish thing to put one’s hope in…Stephen certainly didn’t. Yet, there’s Luke’s tribute to the man who suffered for the name of Christ. He mentions that there was a group remembering him. In the midst of the “great persecution” they took time to give him a proper burial and lament greatly over his passing. buy Prozac online
You may feel forgotten at times or that you’re all alone as you live for Christ wherever He’s placed you, but know this, the devout followers of God love seeing Christ on display as the greatest treasure in the universe. They celebrate lives sold out to Him…and lament their passing. order Deltasone
