Rain Galore
It’s rainy season here in Chad. It’s really a big deal because for nine months, there is no rain at all in the desert north. You may see a few rains in July, but August and September are when it really hits (if it hits at all). About a month ago, things were not looking good. People were becoming nervous, wondering if this would be a drought year because we had not seen much rain.
But, praise God, for the last month, the rain has come heavy and often. It leaves the streets looking like little streams:

Well, not just the streets…our yard looks like it has lots of little streams as well:
After the first few good rains, people start heading out to their fields and plant millet, peanut, and other crops that grow well in this harsh climate. People are happy that the crops should be strong this year. As for our family, what do we do when it rains? Well, you sort of know how that goes:
