Do You Know Your Explorers?

Our family uses Veritas Press Generic prednisone for our History curriculum.  Veritas structures their history into five major time periods:

– Old Testament and Ancient Egypt
– New Testament, Greece and Rome
– Middle Ages, Renaissance and Reformation
– Explorers to 1815
– 1815 to the Present

Each major time period is presented in 32 events from the period.  Students learn the name of the event, dates, along with many important facts pertaining to the event.  After covering all five major time periods, students then return as part of the logic stage of learning and dig deeper into understanding why certain events took place.  I’ve mentuoned this before, but the thing I like most about this curriculum is the rich literature and the love it’s given our kids for reading.  I just looked over at Nehemiah, who is currently in the middle of “Story of the Confederate States” and absolutely glued to it!

Speaking of Nehemiah, he just finished Year 4 and Sonja asked if I would give him his final.  So in, “Are You Smarter Than A 4th Grader?” fashion, here are 10 sample questions from Nehemiah’s final…let’s see how you do?
