Birth Sisters
For this post, we’ll turn back the clock a little to just over three years ago when Sonja was pregnant with Hadassah. Fatuma’s sister, Yakhuta, was also pregnant during that time. Here were the two expecting mothers together just six weeks before their similar due dates:
It was a special journey that Sonja was able to walk with Yakhuta. In the end, Yakhuta delivered her daughter, Khadija, a little before her due date, and the never punctual Hadassah came stumbling out a week after her expected arrival. Here were the mothers and daughters less than a month after their deliveries:
Now, while our families have been together often, we don’t always have a camera with to capture the moments, so it was special when we had one with last month to catch up with the birth sisters (mothers and daughters). Here’s a picture of all four together, as well as the girls hanging out:
