In the lake country of Minnesota, you can occasionally find some think fog in the mornings.  The Chadian equivalent of the weather occurrences which create hazy conditions and low visibility is “hanging sand”.  It’s not a sandstorm per say, as a wall of sand does not come with 30-45 minutes of strong gales, but more prolonged gusts will lift sand into the air and create a similar effect to a foggy day in Minnesota.
