Easter Book Invitation
In a little over a month, we will remember and celebrate Christ’s death and resurrection. It is one of those annual holidays of remembrance that creeps up on you fast and before you know it, you’re buying some candy eggs and sitting in church a little more dressed up than normal. At times, I wished I would have put more time into thinking about that last week of our LORD’s Passion and talking about it with others. Now as a husband and father, I desire to do this with my wife and children for our edification.
Maybe you’ve felt this way as well or would simply enjoy a creative way to engage your own mind or your children’s minds as we head into this Easter season. If so, our family wants to invite you to join us for a book read this coming month.
In a few weeks, our family will begin reading “Vinegar Boy” by Alberta Hawse. The book is an historical fiction account of the Passion week. The story is told from the vantage point of a young boy, who has a unique story of his own, a unique encounter with Jesus Christ, and due to his position, a very unique vantage point of the death and resurrection. We will start the book on April 4, reading a chapter a day so as to actually come to the chapters on the death of Christ around Good Friday and the Resurrection on Easter Day.
