Bathroom Flood

We’ve shared with you before about the immense learning curve our kids face when we return to bathrooms in the States. We believe Nehemiah and Evangeline have figured out the differences that exist here and there.

Athanasius…not so much.

We’re in the capital this week to pick up some guests who are coming to visit. It’s been about a year since we left the States and been around modern amenities. The place where we’re staying right now actually has running water, as opposed to our living situation over the past year, where the only running water comes from the cup we pour.

Shortly after we arrived, Athanasius meandered into the bathroom and after a couple minutes, came running out, yelling:

“Hey guys, a new thing is happening in the bathroom! The toilet is flooding!”

Sonja jumped to her feet, of course, expecting that the toilet had clogged and was flooding onto the bathroom floor. Can you see where this is going? When she entered the bathroom, she discovered that all Athanasius’ excitement and flourished description was over a common, simple, oft-repeated function in the western bathroom…the flushing of a toilet.

Almost as amazing as a flood, eh Scooter?
