Wells In Chad
During our friend Charlie’s visit this summer, I was able to join him as we tried to ascertain what water availability looked like in the rural areas of northeastern Chad. I wasn’t expecting to find the Taj Mahal outside of Iriba, but even I was surprised at the lack of clean water sources. Here’s one well we came upon and what it looked like inside:
Yeah, sort of dry. We did find a well later that went about 18 meters down, but the water was only at the very bottom. There were some kids at the well fetching water for their families by lowering a bucket with a rope and then pulling the bucket up.

The big problem with both of these wells is that they are “open” wells. It is very easy for these water sources to be contaminated, not to mention all the items that get thrown into these wells by the kids who are often playing around them. We believe this is a way we can really serve these outlying populations by helping educate them as to the health problems related to drinking water from contaminated sources and the value of having and maintaining clean water supplies. We hope we might be be able to work with Charlie, his organization, and others to bring clean water to these people.cost difference between viagra cialis
