Eid Al-Adha
Every year, Muslims around the world remember the story of Abraham and his willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to God. They celebrate by slaughtering a sheep (if they can afford one), gathering with family and friends, and sharing food with those less fortunate. Since we showed some pictures of the sheep slaughtering last year, we figured we’d share a little about the gatherings that take place this year.
Much in the same way that our holidays almost always involve gathering with family and friends, so it is with our neighbors here in Chad during Eid Al-Adha. Some friends showed up early in the morning in their new clothes and invited our family to join them for the Eid. Here they are:
So, Sonja and the kids walked across town to their house to visit these friends, prepare food for the feast, and enjoy eating together:
