Sahara is precious and fragile…maybe a little too fragile. For a little over a month we’ve watched her weight sit at about 6 lbs 5 oz. It fluctuated a little higher and a little lower, but never approaching anywhere near her birth weight of 7 lbs 13 oz. While we have sensed she looks healthy, the concerns of doctors around us have grown.  This past week we tried some alternative ways of supplementing her diet without any results.

Now our concern has grown.

At the advice of several doctors, we will evacuate to the capital via a MAF flight immediately and then determine from there if we need further evacuation for Sonja and Sahara to another place with medical facilities capable of better understanding the reasons for Sahara’s lack of weight gain.  We’d appreciate your prayers for our precious little daughter and discernment as to the best steps ahead.  Here are two pictures from birth (top picture) to five weeks later (bottom picture) to show the change we’re seeing:
