Sonja and I both have some great grandmothers.  Our maternal grandmothers, Elaine and Donys, whom two of our kids received their middle names from (Hadassah Elaine and Sahara Donys) are the only two remaining great-grandparents that our children have.  It’s been special for us and the kids to spend several visits with our grandmothers during our time back in the States.  We don’t talk about it very much and it’s not a thought we like to dwell on, but we wonder as we say goodbye to them if this visit might be our last opportunity to tell them how much we love them.

We were reminded of this again as Great-Grandma Donys was admitted to the hospital yesterday with congestive heart failure.  Please pray for her as doctors attend to her medical needs.  Here she is with the kids from earlier this year:
