Hadassah’s First Birthday
One year ago today, the LORD blessed us with a healthy delivery of our little Hadassah right in our home in Abeche. Though we all try to act like it, she is the only true Chadian in our family :)
Fun fact about Hadassah’s birth. Sonja tried super hard (lots of walks, primrose oil, etc) to have her on August 13th, which is not only my birthday, but also my father’s. It was not to be and poor Sonja stuck it out for six more days after that. We were so blessed by our midwife, Holly, and our friend, Margit who handled the delivery and care for Sonja so well that day.
After one year of trying our best to pin the nickname “Princess” on Hadassah, I think now’s a good-a-time as any to share what everyone in our family has been calling her for quite some time now…….Spunky.

Happy Birthday to both of you. My oldest daughter was born 5 days after my birthday despite a “due date” one day before. Our youngest son was born five days after Dustin’s birthday. Some things are hard to time :)
