A Signed Football
During the course of our time at Parole de Vie Béthel, Nehemiah really got to know the Bible students well. It started out in the fall with ultimate frisbee contests, but really picked up in the winter when he joined them almost every day for broomball or boot hockey on the ice. Then, by this spring, Nehemiah was organizing football games every afternoon. It was amazing to hear him rattle off all their names.
As parents, we were a little cautious about letting him go down there at first, not wanting our ambitious, slightly-sport-fanatic son to be bugging the much older Bible students. But, as we watched, it became apparent that they really enjoyed his presence and loved having him play with them.
In what may have been the highlight of his time in Sherbrooke, the Bible students presented Nehemiah with a football signed from almost all the students who played with him. It was a very thoughtful and special gift, which Nehemiah has been showing to almosteveryone he saw.
