While we wait for the full results of our baby’s amniocentesis, doctors are proceeding as if our little girl has no chromosomal abnormalities and just intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR).  For this reason, Sonja is going into the hospital twice a week so our baby can have a biophysical profile (BPP) done.  By ultrasound, they run a series of assessments to see if breathing, heart rate, and basic movements are taking place as they should.  As long as she seems to be okay in there, doctors will continue to let her grow as much as she will rather than inducing labor to get her out.  For both of our first two appointments, our little girl has scored a 10 out of 10 on her biophysical profile test.  We told Nehemiah and Evangeline that their little sister received a better grade than they did on their last Latin test :-)
