Figure Skating
Sonja was a figure skater growing up. She attended practices each week and would then skate in local and regional competitions. It’s always been a source of joy for her to lace up her skates and buzz around the ice just like she did when she was young and of course this was one of the many reasons that attracted me to her and one of the first activities we did together.
So you can imagine the happiness she felt when my sister Nicole suggested that they take the girls up to the rink for open skating time in Roseau. Our niece, Josephine, is a figure skater as well, so the extra outfits from her wardrobe routines provided a “dress up” feel for the evening. Here’s some pictures of Evangeline and Hadassah along with their cousins Josephine and Aliza.
Sweet! I didn’t know! I love to skate pushing ( hanging on ) the stroller! I’m a total chicken on the ice but we all enjoy it here too!

I loved that my cousin skated. And so well!! Sonja’s athleticism and grace on the ice was always something I looked up to. So very glad her girls were able to experience a taste of her passion!
